Baradine serves as the Gateway to the Pillaga Forest. It is a small township of around 500 people located on the SW edge of the Pillaga. Baradine is about 40km from Coonabarabran and about 500km from Sydney. Named as a village in 1865, the timber industry caused it to thrive in the early 1900s. Baradine is an ideal base for anyone seeking a tranquil escape into the Australian Bush. Enjoy scenic forest drives and discover hidden gems such as weatherworn caves. Local inhabitants you may meet include koalas, kangaroos, possums, emus, echidnas, goannas and the Pilliga Mouse. More information at Warrambungle Region.

Baradine Golf Course is a nine hole course with sand greens. 9 Holes, Par 72, ACR 69, 6310 metres. Green fees under $20.00

Accommodation and catering services are available at Camp Cypress, located on 75 hectares of open woodland at the Baradine Showground, less than 2km from the township. "We offer a range of accommodation from ex-2000 Olympic Games villas, camp sites, caravan sites (powered and unpowered) to pavilion-style bulk accommodation." More at Camp Cypress website.
