Barrenjoey Road, Avalon, NSW, Australia, 2107

Avalon Golf Course is a 9 hole public course on Barrenjoey Road at Avalon. The entrance to the course is off The Crescent. Avalon Golf Course was opened in 1926, initially for private members, and was sold to Warringah Council in 1956. The course features undulating fairways in amongst significant remnant native bushland and replanted native flora. Groves of trees line the boundaries as well as the fairways. The clubhouse and two other buildings on the course have received heritage listing.

From 1990 - 2003 some 7,000 native trees and shrubs were replanted on the course. These included banksias, bottlebrush, wattles, she-oak, honey myrtle, hakeas, Sydney Red Gum, eucalypts and very many more. The bushland on Avalon Golf Course is part of the area's wildlife corridor, providing habitat for bandicoots and other native fauna.

Avalon is a beautiful course for beginners, for those looking for a quiet and relaxed game, and for those pressed for time. There is an excellent restaurant and off street parking for 40 cars. 9 holes, Par 62, 3212 metres.
